Facebook’s Blockchain Team Is Looking For “Head Of Business Development”

Facebook’s blockchain group that was launched by David Marcus in May, has posted six job opening. Five of them are for a public policy manager, a software engineering manager in Israel, a media director and two jobs in marketing. While the sixth one has grabbed everyone’s attention as it is for the “head of business development & partnerships”

According to the post regarding the job, the candidate needs to be someone who can “lead, grow and mentor a global team of experienced business development professionals.” and has at least 15 years of dealmaking experience. In January, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in his 2018 mission statement that he’s interested in the technology because of how it decentralizes power. Since then the world has been speculating how, when and what Facebook will do in blockchain industry.

On May 8, Facebook Messenger leader David Marcus boosted the speculations as he announces that he is switching jobs so he could set up a “small group to explore how to best leverage Blockchain across Facebook, starting from scratch.
