Crypto.com confirmed Thursday that 483 of its customer accounts had been hacked by hackers who accessed several layers of its securities.
On Monday, some Crypto.com users received unauthorized withdrawals. It was also revealed that 4,836.26 Ethereum, 443.93 BTC and around US$66,000.00 in other currencies were taken from the exchange’s platform.
After noticing suspicious activity with its accounts, the exchange stopped withdrawing for 14 hours. It then stressed that all funds were safe.
Initial reports about the hack surfaced after PeckShield, a blockchain analytics company, cited on-chain information to prove that approximately $15 million worth Ethereum had been stolen from the crypto exchange. Half of these were already washed with Tornado Cash.
