Dentzel Zaryn was the co-founder of Tuenti, a Spanish social media network, and a Bitcoin ( BTC_) investor. He was, according to reports, a victim of torture as well as an attempted kidnapping in relation to his crypto fortune. El Espanol reports that Zaryn was robbed in Madrid and left with a “superficial knife” wound.
According to , there were four attackers. They are believed to have been from Eastern Europe, according the American entrepreneur. The gang was believed to have targeted Zaryn’s private BTC wallet keys as he gave them the login details in the first instance. He was able to lock his accounts before any of the stolen funds were taken.
According to reports, Tuenti’s co-founder has more than $58 million in Bitcoin spread across his wallets. Zaryn said that he believed that the person who knocked at his door was a prostitute he had hired. El Espanol stated that a maintenance worker was with him at the time. This added credibility to his testimony. The four assailants then handcuffed him and sprayed him with an unknown substance, El Espanol said, quoting the testimony of the entrepreneur.
There are no arrests yet
The building’s CCTV footage is being investigated by police and the neighbours are being questioned. According to reports, the gang had stolen computers, flash drives, jewelry, and mobile phone handsets from Zaryn. The neighbor who reported the incident to police heard Zaryn screaming for help.
As the Spanish Police continue to investigate the attempted robbery, no arrests have been made nor are there any additional details. They are also trying to establish a link between Zaryn and the prostitute. Despite this, she was not present in the area when the incident took place.
