FTX Inks Deal with MLB Superstar Shohei Ohtani

FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange, announced Tuesday a long-term partnership agreement with Shohei Ohtani, MLB Superstar. The Finance Magnates press release states that Ohtani will act as FTX’s ambassador, and will receive both equity and cryptocurrencies.

We are constantly looking for partners who share our passion to be a leader in our respective fields as a company that is changing the digital asset ecosystem. In a very short time Shohei has been a great player in baseball. This, along with his support for digital assets, made it easy to form a partnership. Shohei is passionate about helping the world. FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried commented that Shohei and FTX share a similar passion.

Ohtani was the first player in the Midsummer Classic’s 88-year history to become an All-Star pitcher or hitter. He was also the American League’s manager-selected starter pitcher and the fan-elected starting designated batter in the All-Star Game. FTX said that he was the first pitcher to take part in the Home Run Derby’s 36-year history in less than 24 hours. FTX, a ‘official crypto-exchange partner’ of Major League Baseball, is now a partner.
