Blockasset is a platform that uses non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to promote sports. Finance Magnates learned exclusively. Blockasset Head of Product Ryan Wilkinson revealed that Ali, formerly Cassius Clay, is the fifth star in the ‘LeGENds’ collection.
Wilkinson explained to Finance Magnates that the NFTs were verified by Ali’s executor. They will include different moments from the icon’s career including his most memorable fights against Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson, Ernie Terrell and Joe Frazier. The NFT drop will see the legendary boxer join Wayne Rooney, MMA fighter Michael Bisping and other football stars.
Wilkinson also gave details on what’s coming up in the LeGENds collection, where athletes are featured. LeGENds NFT holders have access to an exclusive “Legends Club” where they can meet with Blockasset athletes, participate in athletes’ AMAs and even play against them in fantasy sport leagues. They also get discounted access to the Blockasset Marketplace, priority access for upcoming P2E Games, and real-world rewards ‘on this date’, which Blockasset uses to celebrate key moments in the LeGENds careers. He said that collectors who have all five LeGENds NFTs in their possession will be able to get early access to all future NFT drops.
